MATLAB 2019b not responding on Mac OS Catalina

I have installed MATLAB 2019b on my MacBook AIr operating on MacOS Catalina Version 10.15.1. The application is freezing right upon startup and the Activity Monitor shows the app is 'Not responding'. There is no issue with RAM or storage. No error messages are printed in the applicaiton window. Please help fixing the issue. Thanks!

I got the same issue.
Sometime it's running and than freezing again.
Anyone find a solution to this? I'm running into the same issue.
same:( on the 2020 version butstill
i got the same problem...Catalina10.15
Same issue. It used to work perfectly on Catalina till lately. Then it started freezing when using some commands so I uninstalled and reinstalled it and it worked again for a few hours. And now it freezes just after launching...
yep matlab is trash. time to learn python
I turned off Dictation in system preferences. I think it may have been interfering with matlab trying to dominate all of the computer hardware.
Matlab decided not to freeze on startup after that... could just be coincidence.
I am having same problem.
And Mac is trash, not MATLAB. I have used MATLAB 20+ years, only had this problem when I used it on a Mac. Time to buy a PC.

If you are using Magnet, let it gnore the Matlab. That should be fixed.

I could not get it to work either. Luckily my school allowed me to use MATLAB online to be able to finish my project on time.

Quitting Magnet or asking it to ignore Matlab was indeed the solution! Thanks!
I meet same problem either. I had tried restart the mac but it didn't run well.Fortunately, it solved a few moments later after I tried it on anther desk. You may try it.
