Unresponsive install dialog window for linux installer of MATLAB 2020a

I'm trying to upgrade my 2019b MATLAB installations on Fedora Core 30 and Ubuntu 18.04.
When I run the install script contained in the downloaded zip archive, a dialog window appears, but it is very difficult to interact with it. This is the window:
When I put the cursor inside the entry boxes, I can't type in the required information. I can successfully click "Advanced Options" and "Sign In"--the window is responsive to those clicks. But I can't actually enter the information.

Hi,
This is a known issue on few Linux platforms, can you try the work around mentioned in the following link:
Hope this helps!

Thanks Harsha, that did help. I was able to install on an Ubuntu 18.04 machine after I changed the window-focus policy from mouse to click. I'll report back about Fedora Core later.
When is that finally fixed upstream? I am fedup with "workarounds" since 2018 or so. Fix your stuff!
Exactly, the so-called "workaround" did not solve the problem, and I also think you should fix this up instead of suggesting workaround!
Agree, I am also stuck installing it on Ubuntu, very unsatisfactory, workaround not working.
For me the workaround of "Changeing the window focus mode to "click" instead of "mouse" in the settings" did not work on Debian 11. Only "Switching the desktop environment to XFCE." helped.
Pls fix your stuff. This bug is 3 years old after all.

In https://www.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/1797911 it says the solution is to install 2024b, that is false, still a bug. Btw, suggesting using XFCE is not a workaround, it's a major software switch, 95% of Linux DE are using KDE or Gnome.
