Can MATLAB be used for DXF Nesting?

Hello everyone,

i am not really familiar with MATLAB but got asked to investigate, if it is possible to use it for DXF Nesting. Due to the fact, that i did not find anything via google and in forums, i wanna ask here. My technical expertise in this context is quite limited.

I am thinking of something like you can do with this open source sw: https://deepnest.io/

Along the way i asked myself the following things:

• Would it be possible?
• Is there a big effort needed to make it happen? 5, 10 or 50 days of coding?
• Can the whole nesting process be automated? Like sending in some information (maybe manually oder automatically), the nesting happens and the data export happens to a certain folder?
