How to read .mat file of a TRMM data and Extract for a particular region?

How is .mat file? Is it a MATLAB file? What area you want to extract? More information is needed.

Thanks for following up on the question. Yes, It is a MATLAB file ".mat". It includes rainfall data for Australia. I want to load that data and want to extract for a particular region. my lat (lat<=-10&lat>=-35) and lon (lon<=155&lon>=130). I have shape file for the area.

Wow, it's really hard to get you to help us help you. Pankaj, I guess you glossed over the posting guidelines when you posted, and even in your comment you forgot to attach that .mat file and shape file with the paper clip icon, thus delaying a solution.
