problem will installation of software

while installing there came an error and all of a sudden installation page has disappeared .i thought to reinstall but before that i want to delete halfly installed matlab files(4 gb ) i deleted but the space in my c harddisk is not reducing its the same as before and after deleteing matlab files.please help me to get my space back
