Gaussian Regression Process - Student

Hi,

Basically I had never heard of Gaussian Regression up until a week ago.

I need to analyse some data in relation to a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate dissertation.

The dissertation is in relation to occupancy tracking within a building and how we can use Temperature, Noise, and Motion levels to calculate and predict the number of occupants within a room.

So I have data on the number of occupants, the temperature, the noise levels and the motion levels, for every 20 minutes during a 9 hour working day.

With this data I want to use regression analysis to hopefully predict future occupancy using the parameters above.

How much knowledge do I require to make this happen in the most basic way possible?
