All Versions Corrupt, Can't Even Reinstall

I had Matlab 2011a, 2012a, and 2013a on Windows 7, all installed and working fine. Suddenly I could no longer run the programs (the program could not be found error message), and then I deleted everything related to Matlab on my computer (because I could not uninstall since Matlab was not in my list of programs in the control panel). Then I tried reinstalling Matlab 2012a and I get the error from Windows that it might not have installed correctly (which is good because it hasn't installed at all!).
Any ideas on what I can do to get these installs working?

Restore the system disk from the backup taken at the time short before Matlab disappeared. Try the restore points of Windows 7, when you do not have an independent backup.
You find a lot of tools for a clean (and brute) deinstallation of any software. Then even the registry is cleaned.
But in every case it sounds very strange that 3 Matlab installations have vanished simultaneously and suddenly.
