How to convert DICOM image into a grayscale image or RGB Image ? I want to draw contour on the dicom image for finding Cardiac epi and endocardium boundaries using level set segmentation method .

RGB=dicomread('filename');%%%%%read dicom file which is in current directory path if not add path%%
G=rgb2gray(RGB);%%%convert to grayscale image%%%

how to convert if the image is not in size of mx3 or mxnx3 thank u in advance..bhavanabtech2010@gmail.com...
