Why do I receive MathWorks Licensing Error 34 when I start MATLAB?

When I start MATLAB, I receive an error message that says "MathWorks Licensing Error 34".

This error indicates that your system date is not correct. Check your computer's date & time to make sure that it is accurate. After correcting this, try starting MATLAB again.
