The Large Hadron Collider is a multiTeV proton-proton colliding beam machine operated by CERN and spanning the Swiss-France border near Geneva Switzerland. The CERN open data portal provides the public access to simulated and real data along with a suite of professional analysis tools. This script examines a few processed data files available in csv format containing kinematic information for pairs of leptons (electrons and muons) found in early data to demonstrate how highly unstable parent particles are identified in distributions of the invariant mass of directly observable daughter particles. Background information is provided along with "Try this" suggestions for further exploration.
This script interest to those curious about high energy particle physics.
