This is the code for Exa 4.4 in our EABE 2023 paper, that creates an interpolation on 3D Stanford bunny data using polyharmonic splines.
This is the code for Example 4.4 in our EABE 2023 paper, that creates an interpolation function on 3D Stanford bunny data using polyharmonic splines and low order polynomials.
The polyharmonic splines are a special kind of radial basis functions, which are considered as conditionally positive-definite bases. A low order polynomial will guarantee the invertibility of collocation matrices.
The interpolation is considered as an implicit interpolation, as only the estimated function values at a set of discrete evaluation points are obtained through such interpolation. The results are accurate and efficient.
