The reservoir computing framework offers an alternative method of control and offers potentail signficant advantages when dealing with complex robotic systems. This tutorial indroduces the idea of reservoir control for a fully actuated pendulum enabling the showcasing of the pendulum's dynamics to be embedded within the reservoir itself. It shows how this framework can be used to replace a PID controller and offers insight into whether it is possible to control an underactuated pendulum using the same system or similar system.
