The geomagnetic field vary periodically over time. The variation with a period of one day and one night is called the diurnal variation of the geomagnetic field. The amplitude of diurnal variation varies with time, season and latitude. It is generally stronger during the day than at night, and stronger in summer than in winter. The diurnal variation patterns are different in different latitudes. The diurnal variation is strongest near 30 degrees (Suzhou is 31.2983) north and south latitude. The diurnal variation of the vertical component is stable in the morning and evening, and changes significantly at noon. The amplitude is generally between a dozen and several dozen nanoteslas. It is generally believed that diurnal variation is related to factors such as the rotation of the earth, the moon, and the sun's radiation and geomagnetic activity from wind and lightning. We measured it at Suzhou, with quantum device from Rongchen Biotech Inc.
