Install Python 3.13 for MATLAB

Installation Instructions

Click the Install or Download button in the upper-right corner of this page.

• If using the Install button: MATLAB will download and install Python 3.13 automatically as part of the Python 3.13 Support Package.
• If using the Download button: Save the .mlpkginstall file, then either double-click it or drag it into the MATLAB Command Window to begin installation.

Once installed, MATLAB automatically detects the installation and adds it to the list of available base environments in the Python view of the External Languages panel.

Configure MATLAB to Use Python 3.13 Support Package

To open the Python view in the External Languages panel, right-click anywhere on the sidebar, select Open more panels, and then click External Languages. Then select the Python option from the language list at the upper left of the panel.

Once the support package is installed, MATLAB automatically detects the installation and adds it to the list of available base environments in the Python view in the External Languages panel under All Python Environments section. To select the installed Python environment, right-click it and select Set as Selected Environment.
