UMat is a basic unit handling system for MATLAB. It uses the object oriented capabilities introduced in MATLAB 5.0 to implement a unit class. The user can now define scalar, vector and matrix quantities and attach a unit to them. Basic mathematical operations can be performed on these unit objects, and the appropriate action will occur. See the enclosed MS Word file, or 'unitdemo.m' for more information.

These files have been used extensively under MATLAB 5.0, 6.0 & 6.1.
