Lightning Search Algorithm (LSA)
Lightning Search Algorithm (LSA) is a new and effective metaheuristic optimization method for solving real-valued numerical optimization problems. LSA was inspired by the natural phenomenon of lightning and the mechanism of step leader propagation. LSA uses the concept of fast particles known as projectiles. Standard LSA has three different search-methods. They are based on the exponential random behavior of space projectile, the concurrent formation of two leader tips at fork points using opposition theory and local search by lead projectile. In [1], an extensive comparative study with five other well-known methods namely, DSA,BSA,FFA,PSO and HSA is conducted to validate and compare the problem solving success of the LSA compared to the successes of DSA, BSA, FFA, PSO and HSA.
