This is the rainfall type categorization (formerly known as convective/stratiform classification) of Powell et al. (2016, JTECH). It is an update to the Steiner et al. (1995) method of classifying convective and stratiform echoes of tropical and subtropical precipitation.
Note: This program has been ported from python to MATLAB (https://github.com/swpowell/raintype_python.git)
