Convert dates to julian day. For example, if you want to know the number of day since time began for the IBM PC, wich is 1980-01-01, type the following:

number_of_day = date2julian(2005-01-23)
the results is of course 9155 days.

You can specify the day 0 that you want in the file date2julian.
