A BCI controlled upper limb exoskeleton for rehabilitation is developed and EMG based monitoring system is established. This rehabilitation equipment is demanding significantly nowadays. Hence, IBUER is designed to assist stroke patients to undergo rehabilitation.
The rehabilitation training of stroke survivors has become a major social problem urgently. The demand for advanced rehabilitation equipment is significantly increasing, which will help patients to perform accurate, quantitative, and effective training. As a result, the aim of this project is to design and develop an intelligent BCI controlled upper limb exoskeleton to assist stroke patients to undergo rehabilitation process. A control system and the mechanical structure for BCI based upper limb exoskeleton will be designed and constructed. The expected result is an intelligent BCI based upper limb exoskeleton with both system control and mechanical structure to achieve some major objectives, such as great flexibility, better comfort, and high matching between human and computer.
