True Cycle Motor Simulator
Many times we have had doubts about how the real thermal cycle of an internal combustion engine was modified as the engine's geometric parameters and operation varied. with this extremely simplified model it is sufficient to set the parameters and compare the results.
The model, resolving every 0.2 degrees of the crank angle the equations of the continuity of mass and energy is able to provide the variations of burnt mass, average temperature of the cylinder and involute mass.
The variations obtained through the Wibe heat release law are integrated through a Merson integration method.
Finally from these quantities it is possible to obtain the cycle indicated as well as the parameters of common interest such as the potency, the specific consumption and the filling coefficient.
