This app describes the operation of a quadrilateral relay. The app shows operating characteristics in desired quadrant by changing different values and sign of R and X. The operating region is inside the shaded portion.The relay operates if the selected point lies inside the operating region. By changing appropriate values of R and X the characteristics can be set for forward direction fault with desired reach as well for reverse direction fault.
