SMP-tool

Perform analysis such as transient analysis, steady-state analysis, and sensitivity analysis of semi-Markov processes
Updated 14 Sep 2021
As safety-critical systems grows in complexity, so does also the task of performing dependability analyses of them. Depenability of safety-critical systems is however essential in arguing about their level of safety.
SMP-tool (Semi-Markov Process-tool) is a Matlab app, developed on Matlab version R2019b, for dependability analyses of safety-critical systems using SMPs (Semi-Markov Processes). SMP-tool also have partial but not complete support for later versions of Matlab such as R2020b where the use of parameters is not supported. By modelling the system of interest as a semi-Markov process, SMP-tool can analyze the system in several manners:
  • Steady state analysis
  • Dependability analysis
  • Sensitivity analysis
Beyond these analyses, SMP-tool can also be used to simulate the SMP as well as to perform a close examination of each state of the process. The tool depend on the Matlab toolboxes: symbolic toolbox, statistics and machine learning toolbox, Simulink, and Stateflow.
