My name is Robin T. Bye and I am an associate professor in automation engineering and head of the Cyber-Physical Systems Laboratory at NTNU in Ålesund. I am also an affiliated scientist at NTNU AMOS. Apart from teaching automation and computer engineering classes at both the bachelor and master level on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybernetics, microcontrollers, and intelligent systems, I also supervise PhD, master, and bachelor students on their thesis topics. My main research interests belong to areas such as intelligent control engineering, virtual prototyping, computational modelling and simulation of human movements, and dynamic resource allocation and operations research, as well as research in teaching and education. My current focus is mainly on autonomous ships and orthopaedic surgery simulators.
