When I try to activate, I get the following error message:
ERROR: Error 668
This license has reached the maximum number of licensed end user redesignations (transfers) allowed. Contact the Customer Service Team for more information.
What should I do to activate?

This error will occur if attempting to activate when you're not a Licensed End User on the license.
If you are a License Administrator, you can change the User associated with a license in the License Center of your MathWorks Account.
If you are associated with a license, you can find contact info for your License Administrator in the License Center:1. Go to
2. Log into your account (if prompted)3. Click on license number4. Click on "Contact Administrators" tabPlease contact support if above doesn't help:

To clarify: under the Terms of Use, you may only change ("redesignate") the Named User of a license a limited number of times per year. You will receive this error if you try to change more often than is permitted.

In the license_agreement.txt file, the current version says,
1.1. Individual License Option
(ii) A Named User may install the Programs on up to four (4) different
Computers but may not use a Program on more than two (2) Computers
simultaneously, except that Student and Home Licenses are limited to a
single Computer.
(iii) The Licensee may redesignate the Named User authorized to use a
Program, whether temporarily or not, up to four (4) times in any twelve
(12) month period, except that Student and Home Licenses are not
transferable.
1.2. Designated Computer License Option
(iv) The Licensee may redesignate the Computer, whether temporarily or not,
up to four (4) times in any twelve (12) month period.
1.3. Network Named User License Option
(vi) The Licensee may redesignate the Named Users for a Program, whether
temporarily or not, up to four (4) times in any twelve (12) month period.
