Why am I being prompted for Administrator authentication when starting MATLAB?

When I start MATLAB, Windows is asking me to authenticate with the Administrator information. I was under the impression that I did not need Administrator privileges to run MATLAB.

If you did not complete the installation with Administrative privileges, you may see this prompt whenever starting MATLAB. Another cause may be UAC (User Account Control) settings. Please review the UAC settings, which can be found in Windows Action Center, and try lowering them to "Default".
If the above does not resolve this issue, you will have to re-install MATLAB—when installing it, right click MATLAB and do "Run as Administrator".
