Battery SOC plotting in Scope
Show older comments
Hello,
I am using the Generic Battery in the 2012b version of simulink. I have a simple circuit of the battery and a pulse current source with a current sensor. The simulation runs fine and I can plot the current, however I am interested in the SOC of the battery over time. There is no output pin on the battery for this, is there a way to plot this out?
I saw in the documentation example that they have an input to the Scope block called SOC, however I cannot replicate this.
Thanks,
Thomas

If the initial charge and current are known, a simple Coulomb counting can be performed to obtain the SOC.
For battery simulation, the best place to start with is Simscape Battery, a new toolbox introduced in R2022b. There are many examples about the design and simulation of battery packs and battery management systems, including state-of-charge estimation.
