Is it possible to interface SimMechanics blocks with Simscape blocks, in SimMechanics 4.2 (R2013a)?

I have a SimMechanics model that I would like to interface with a Simscape network. I would like to know if this is possible.

To go from SimMechanics 2nd Generation to the Simscape domain, it is necessary to use interfacing blocks to bridge the gap. Please see the following link for an example of how to interface a SimMechanics model with Simscape blocks:
