Continious message "starting parallel pool (parpool) using the local profile"?
Show older comments
Hi all, I am trying to run two instances of matlab2014b.
First i started a Matlab which uses parfor, and it gives message that connected to 12 workers. and than simulation started normally.
Than i started another instance of Matlab2014b and run another code. But this time it is continiously giving me this message :
starting parallel pool (parpool) using the local profile..
starting parallel pool (parpool) using the local profile..
starting parallel pool (parpool) using the local profile..
starting parallel pool (parpool) using the local profile..
Can any body explain why is it so, and how can i manage it?
Regards

Hello, my matlab code has been running for two hours, and still no response, just "Starting parallel pool (parpool) using the 'local' profile...Connected to the parallel pool (number of workers: 2).”
What should I do?

I'd contact tech support on that one.

They can help diagnose it with tools not available to the community and can hopefully help you figure out what's going on and resolve it.

You'll have to go here and create a new service request:

It might be because both pools are accessing the same JobStorageLocation. If you're going to run two instances of MATLAB and a local parpool at the same time, try modifying the JSL in the local profile before starting the pool to point to unique locations.
