xlsread error

I recently switched from laptop to desktop, and installed matlab R2011b on my desktop. Something went wrong when I ran the following code:
Price=xlsread(FileName,PriceTabName,PriceRangeName);
(where FileName, PriceTabName, PriceRangeName are names of my Excel 2007 spreadsheet, tab and range, respectively).
The error message is: Error: The object invoked has disconnected from its clients. Error in xlsread (line 250) format = ExcelWorkbook.FileFormat;
But my code used to run OK on my previous laptop under version R2011a. It also runs fine when I tried it on another desktop with R2011a version as well. Not sure what caused the problem...

Are you sure that's all you're doing? You don't have another copy of Excel that you opened via ActiveX or anything, and then shut down? You only have this one call that has anything whatsoever to do with Excel?
