Why matlab rewrite automatically the line number in a script?

I use matlab online on an android device. When I type something in the command window the program ads the symbol ‹‹ and then repeats automatically the first letter typed.
When I open a new script happens a similar thing, the program ads the line number and then repeats automatically the first letter typed.
Is it possible to remove it?

Do you happen to be using Windows? And a slightly older version? There was a bug that affected a couple of Windows releases. Unfortunately I am having difficulty coming up with the correct postings for the problem. @Steven Lord recently pointed a user to the correct posting.
My memory is along the lines of it affecting R2021a and R2021a Update 1, but I could definitely be wrong on the details of which release and which Update.
If you are not using the most recent Update for your version, then I recommend that you update.
Yes, exactly, thanks!
I was searching for "newline" so no wonder I did not find it ("line feeds" in the post)
I've added a few tags to that post to increase its discoverability.
But since the poster said this was using MATLAB Online, I don't think the bug report applies. Though I am curious if they're using MATLAB Online (as they stated) or MATLAB Mobile (since they mentioned they're on an Android device.)
That's correct!
I haven't installed MATLAB Mobile. I use MATLAB Online on the Samsung browser. The Android version is 10.

That used to happen to me, mostly when I used the Samsung keyboard. I have had much better experience with the SwiftKey keyboard (now a Microsoft product)
