Initializing Java preferences failed in matlabrc

*Hello I am receiving the following message after updating the current version of Java. Im having trouble checking the current version of Java, But I have not had a problem with Matlab up until this latest update.
I have attempted to check java version by typing 'java -version' in OS X Terminal but it just prompts me to download the latest version which I am pretty sure I already have.
MAC OS X version: 10.10.2 Matlab version: Matlab_R2014b
So far I haven't experienced a problem but I dont want to have a problem when I need Matlab most.
This is what the code is saying everytime I open Matlab:*
