Updater Shows New Version of Matlab 2023a, However, Clicking the Updater Button Doesn't Do Anything

Matlab 2023a shows there's an update, but clicking the botton doesn't appear to do anything.

Same problem. Clicking on "Install Update" doesn't work.
My MATLAB version:
MATLAB Version: 23.2.0.2380103 (R2023b) Update 1
Operating System: macOS Version: 12.7 Build: 21G816
Java Version: Java 1.8.0_382-b05 with Amazon.com Inc. OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM mixed mode

I found that the same issue appears yet in 2024 (trying to update 23b U4 to U6), but looking on the Downloads area of the MathWorks, I found, that I should follow different procedure, which actually worked for me:
- instead of using "Help/Check for Updates..." in the main menu of MATLAB in the MacOS menu line (which brings the dialog as in the question above)
- I have to use the notification bell icon next to my name in the top line of MATLAB window.

I was having the same issue with 2023b on my Apple Silicon mac and using the notification bell icon also resolved my issue with getting the update. Thanks!!!

The most common cause of this problem is the case where Mathworks releases an update, but then withdraws the update due to technical problems.
