Running MATLAB code using the Runtime

I have a GUI that I would like to send to someone without MATLAB. Can I simply send the code to be run using the MATLAB Runtime, or does it need to be compiled using the purchased MATLAB Compiler package?

It needs to be compiled with MATLAB Compiler. The MATLAB Runtime is only for use with programs compiled with MATLAB Compiler or MATLAB Compiler SDK
