Does MATLAB support third-party software in general?

I'm trying to use a third-party software, but whenever I try and use it, I notice that MATLAB crashes. Why is MATLAB crashing and does MATLAB work with third-party software in general?

MathWorks Technical Support provides support only for MathWorks products. This means that we are unable to troubleshoot codebases developed to interact with MathWorks products from 3rd party sources.
If you are encountering any error messages or other issues within MATLAB when running the third-party software, we recommend that you first check the documentation provided by the third-party vendor for troubleshooting tips or contact them directly for support.
