R2024a Prerelease will not start due to OpenGL Startup Plugin Fatal Error

36 views (last 30 days)
Hello.
I am trying to install the MATLAB R2024a Prerelease, and although the installation is successful, I can't open R2024a due to a Fatal Error.
The following is the text from the error:
Dynamic exception type: class cppmicroservices::SharedLibraryException std::exception::what: Loading C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2024a\bin\matlab_starup_plugins\graphics\opengl_startup_plugin\mwopengl_startup_plugin.dll failed with error: The specified module could not be found. : not connected: not connected.
I have already confirmed that my GPU is running a version of OpenGL that surpasses the system minimums, and I uninstalled and reinstalled R2024a. The uninstaller wouldn't actually run so I just deleted the whole folder, I assume that's an unrelated problem. R2023a continues to run fine. Any guidance would be appreciated. Below are my system details:
Dell XPS 15 9570
Intel Core i7-8750H CPU @ 2.20 GHz (Turbo up to 4.1GHz)
32Gb DDR4 Ram
Windows 11 Professional
Intel UHD Graphics 630 (Running WebGL/OpenGL 4.6)

Xinyu‘s solution is useful. I have just recover the Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml , which is relative to the ddux.dll. Problem solved.

Xinyu‘s solution also works for me, at least for the time being as Windows Defender insists on removing this "Trojan".

Hi,
please go to Windows Defender and restore the file "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2024a\bin\win64\ddux.dll". It has been falsely marked as Trojan:Win32/Malgent!MSR and quarantined.
Good Luck, Jan
