uigetfile Win7 Libraries unresponsive

I am using Windows 7. Using uigetfile, when I try to navigate to something in a library or in 'Recent Files', I get an error 'The file name is not valid.' Is this a known problem? Is it a problem with Windows or with uigetfile? It's really frustrating.
