- The path to your release of MATLAB is correct
- The update you're attempting to install is for a matching release (ex: R2024a Update 1 to R2024a Update 2)
- The MathWorks Update Installer cannot upgrade MATLAB from 1 release to another (ex: it cannot upgrade R2023b to R2024a). Different releases of MATLAB are treated as separate programs
- Your antivirus and/or security software is not interfering with the installation
- You have enough space on the storage device for the update package to be copied to the destination directory

It is normal for the MathWorks Update Installer to display nothing on the command line when using it. You will need to refer to the installation log file for more detailed information. If the update installer is not producing a log file, please ensure of the following:
