Why do I observe a 'libiomp5md.dll' dependency when I generate code with MATLAB Coder in MATLAB R2015b?

After upgrading to MATLAB R2015b, when I generate a DLL using MATLAB Coder, there is a new dependency for my project named 'libiomp5mp.dll'. Why does this dependency appear, and how do I disable it?

This is an expected behavior: starting in MATLAB R2015b, several library functions are automatically parallelized using OpenMP. You can disable this option by following the instructions for setting the 'EnableOpenMP' option to false.
