Hi Matlab Community! I have activation key, but I cannot install Matlab in my windows 10. My laptop has 8GB ram, 2.4GHz intel Core i5 processor (64bit). When I was trying to install, it goes upto the step of configuring "Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable (x64)". After then, it disappears. I tried different versions of R2015b, R2015aSP1, R2015a with both 64bit & 32bit. How can I solve this problem?

Like we've said below several times, call the Mathworks for fast and free help. They can talk you through it and even set up a webex to let them see and drive your computer. We can't do that for you.

I had exactly the same problem. I managed to solve it by downloading the latest Microsoft Visual c++ redistributable and removing the 2005 one. I needed to restart the system and then Windows went for the new Microsoft Visual c++ redistributable and the Installation worked.

Thank you for your answer. It worked. :) I simply installed "Microsoft visual c++ 2013 (x64)" and restarted. Now, it works (though i didn't remove Visual c++ 2005). It goes few steps ahead and now downloading Matlab 8.6 updates to finalize installation :)

Download the redistributable directly from Microsoft : and install it. Then try the MATLAB installation again. If that doesn't work, then call the Mathworks for FREE and fast help.
