Hi,
Is there a way to plot a line from the edge detected using the "edge" function?
Thank you,

Post a picture/diagram showing what you want. Mock something up in Photoshop if you have to. But we don't know what "a line from an edge" would be. Tangent to the edge? Perpendicular to it? At some arbitrary angle? How long? Until it hits the edge of the image in both directions? Or of some limited length?

How about using bwboundaries on the edge function output? Check it out: http://ch.mathworks.com/help/images/ref/bwboundaries.html Regards, Florian

Hi Florian,
I tried bwboundaries, but it doesn't really work out for me. I want to trace a line on the detected edges then get the distance from one edge to the other... pixel by pixel.
... Any thoughts?
Cheers, Ramsés
