The documentation appears to me to indicate it is present: http://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2010a/toolbox/comm/ug/a1049735394.html
Perhaps you do not have the appropriate toolbox for it.

hi i am unable to open the link... it says page not found..will please send me the function
The link works for me. You may not be able to access the page if your MATLAB Central account is not associated with a MATLAB license.
The toolbox needed is the Control Systems toolbox.
I do not have that toolbox myself, in any version, and I am not authorized to send you any of MathWorks intellectual property.
If you have the MATLAB Student Version then the Control Systems toolbox is, I believe, included in your distribution, but it would not be marked for installation by default. You may need to go back through your installation process and select it specifically.
If you have a purchase code for the Control Systems toolbox, you can contact MATLAB Support for free assistance in installation problems.

Hi Walter, I think you meant Communications (System) Toolbox. Suresh, you can see the reference page for varlms
>>doc varlms
That is how you call that from the command line. Of course, everything Walter says about needing the appropriate toolbox is certainly applicable.
Ah yes, I mis-read the URL for the toolbox. Communications it is.
