Contour Plot Data Comparison Method

I am trying to quantify the difference in the data distribution/layout/direction of the two plots attached below. They are 3D datasets that show directional wavy ridges. However, I am not familiar with any data analysis methods that can give me quantitative comparison between such datasets. Does anyone have an idea of how I can go about comparing these two datasets? I welcome any image analysis and data analysis methods.
