How to enter data in an Edit Field in Matlab Appdesigner?

I designed an app in appdesigner. However, I am unable to enter any text in the Edit field. Am able to right click and the code runs fine. Also, the editable property of the Edit Field is set to true. Please help

I've tried to apply the workaround "Change the window focus mode to "click" instead of "mouse" in the settings.", as indicated in https://se.mathworks.com/support/bugreports/1797911

But is was not enough. I also needed to activate "Separate screen focus" setting in the "Multiscreen behaviour" section.
