Matlab2016a fail to install on Linux
Show older comments
Hello, I have recently gotten the unix version of Matlab2016a dvd image files to install it in Linux. However, I am having quite some difficulty in running the installation files after mount the iso.
The details are as follows (look picture for more information):
After type
“sudo /root/matlab/install”
The terminal will show warning
“expr: warning: unportable BRE: `^/root/matlab': using `^' as the first character
of the basic regular expression is not portable; it is being ignored
Preparing installation files ...
expr: warning: unportable BRE: `^/root/matlab': using `^' as the first character
of the basic regular expression is not portable; it is being ignored
Installing ...
Finished”
Unfortunately, the install window will not display.
Thus, hoping someone can tell me what might be going on.
By the way, Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.11 (Tikanga) is this Linux version. And I have succeeded install matlab2016a in another Linux computer with same ISO file.
Thanks!
