plotting 3rd variable in both colour and surface

Hi,

I'm trying to plot a matrix with both colour and height on a 3D graph, effectively imagesc but with height as well as colour for the non-locaqtion variable.

Can anyone recommend a function to do this?

Also, this is being plotted in app designer FYI.

Why not surf ?

whenever I try to use surf it just produces a 2D figure. I am pre specifying "figure", is there a 3D version of this?
