Lego Mindstorms installation problem

Asked by Robert Barr on 17 Jul 2012
The support package fails on Cygwin installation. I tried the installer from Internet and Folder. I tried manually downloading the .bz2 and .ini files downloaded from a Cygwin mirror site and including them in the target downloads directory, but the Target installer does not seem to be aware of them, and consistently goes to the internet. I also tried manually installing Cygwin, which is successful, but does not allow advancement beyond the Cygwin stage of the Target installation. Partial error log is pasted below. Please advise.

Try this:
  1. Close MATLAB/Simulink.
  2. Delete C:\MATLAB\Targets\R2012a\downloads
  3. Delete C:\MATLAB\Targets\R2012a\Cygwin
  4. Delete C:\MATLAB\Targets\R2012a\lego
  5. (Optional) Restart Windows.
  6. (Optional) Stop McAfee and any other virus scanning software.
  7. (Optional) Right click and run MATLAB in administrator mode.
  8. Run Target Installer again.
If that doesn't work, I would recommend contacting MathWorks Technical Support.
