Compiling Matlab "App" with a .m file

Is there a way to compile a .m file into an app that does not require matlab? Making a UI for a new laptop and don't want to have to put matlab on it.

MATLAB Compiler is the appropriate product. It costs roughly as much as two copies of MATLAB .

How much is that? I’m a college student and MatLab is included in our engineering fees.

I believe the Compiler Toolbox is not allowed to be included with the Student version, if that's what you have. You need a professional license and it's in the neighborhood of $5000 just for the Compiler Toolbox alone (not including base MATLAB and your other toolboxes).
Yeesh. So much for that idea.
Thanks for the info.
MATLAB Coder (a different product) is available to students for about $us 30. It is a product that can compile a subset of MATLAB into C code which you could put together into an executable .
Hmm. I‘ll definitely have to look into that. That‘s much more in my price range. Thanks for all the help.
