MATLAB internal error on startup
Show older comments
Hello everybody,
every time I start MATLAB I get the following error message:
MATLAB has encountered an interal error and needs to close.
Reason: Access violation.
How can I get information what causes this error?
There was a Windows and a driver update of my graphic card a few days ago. I am not sure if this is important but I get the error message every time on MATLAB start.
Maybe someone can give me some advice. I contaceted support with dump file (see attachement)
Thank a lot guys,
Robert

I also had a Windwoes update cause a problem w/ Matlab not long ago...I rolled back the update and all was well again.
I've not allowed update since (been couple of months) on hope that if waited a few cycles the next one won't.
Unfortunately with stuff like this, everything is so dependent upon all the myriad of little details that are different between every system, it's almost impossible to track down the exact culprit w/o the vendors involvement who have the tools at the level required.
TMW will support install/startup issues; you've done the right thing in submitting official support request.

Just to clarify, when you say "I contaceted support with dump file (see attachement) " you meant you used the Contact Us button (the telephone) in the upper-right corner of this page or you used the "Request Support" button on the Home tab of the Toolstrip on an older installation of MATLAB? Those are the two main ways to contact the official Technical Support team.
If by "I contaceted[sic] support" you mean you posted here, please use the Contact Us button too.
