Why does MATLAB timeout while running long calculation in "nodesktop" mode?

I am running a MATLAB job with "–nodisplay", "–nodesktop" options. While running a regression on MATLAB, I have noticed that it was aborting after a specific time period. The problem was debugged to the license server revoking the MATLAB session's license after a specific timeout (12 hours) as the session was being marked as idle.
Why is the session being marked as idle although it is still executing a script? Below are my MATLAB logs.
2019-02-05 13:23:26 (MLM) OUT: "Signal_Toolbox" username@hostname
*2019-02-06 01:20:14 (MLM) Idle session. Returning keys for username@hostname.*
2019-02-06 01:20:14 (MLM) IN: "Communication_Toolbox" username@hostname

This is a known bug in MATLAB R2017a, and has been fixed in the R2017b release. To resolve this issue in MATLAB R2017a, refer to the following Bug Report which has been published with a patch attached:
