Student version for Mathworks 2012b Release

When i can buy the 2012b-Version for Student????? Can i use a unused key from 2011 for activation for the 2012b Version

I would check with your school/university to see if you have access to download from them. Some universities offer the latest versions directly to their students.

That is a good suggestion. I have seen students purchasing a Student Version not knowing their respective unversity had a campus license (AKA Total Acadademic Campus license student use)

This is a forum for technical topics. Even if you are receiveing an answer here, you can't be sure it is correct. E.g. the rules may be different by country.

I'm pretty sure I remember someone saying before that Student releases only occur with the March "a" releases, not the September "b" releases. You can still get a Student version for "R2012a" in that case.

I agree that the best available indicator for predicting the future often is looking into the past ;-) but this is exactly why I recommend contacting MathWorks. You can't be sure.

R2008a Student Version did not exist, but R2008b Student Version did. That is the only b-series Student Version that has existed so far -- and that is a fact that has not varied by country.
The license keys are release specific. An R2011a key cannot be used with any version other than R2011a.
